WAYS TO HELP THE TOURNAMENT RUN ON TIME

Parents:

1. On Saturday morning, if you haven't already attended judge training this year for either the Lincoln Douglas debate or Team Policy debate, please attend the combined Team Policy Debate and Lincoln Douglas Debate Judge Orientation based on the updated 2023 Judge Orientation slides. The combined training will be used due to space and personnel limitations at the tournament. The training will be held at 7:20 AM in the Judge Training Room, which is in Building D.

2. On Saturday morning, if you are not judging the first debate round and you haven't already attended debate training, please attend the training during the Round 1 time slot. The training will take place in the Judge Training Room at 8 AM (Building D).

3. Please be trained for both forms of debate as soon as possible so that we will have ample judges available throughout each day. After the first round, additional training for both forms of debate will take place 40 minutes before each round in the Judge Training Room in Building D. If no one is in there and you need training, please alert Tab.

4. Please be available to judge all day. The rounds that you have been scheduled to judge are highlighted on the schedule on the back of your name tag. However, problems will arrive during the day, and you may be needed to judge a round that was not highlighted.

5. When not judging, please hang out in the 3 Family Hangout Room in Building D. There may be an unexpected judge need.

6. Please come to ballot push 30 minutes before each round highlighted on your name tag.

7. Please arrive early to the room that you are assigned to judge.

8. When you are finished judging a debate round, please immediately leave the room and return to the Judge Deliberation to complete your ballots. There will be other events that will need to begin in the room immediately following.

Students:

1. Promptly go to your competition rooms immediately after postings.

2. When you are through debating, please leave the room immediately since there will be other events going on in that room immediately following.
